Last year LinkedIn redesigned their entire profile experience. One of the most welcome changes was the addition of a space for cover photos.
For the launch we created a library of textured cover images that members could choose from should they decide to not upload their own. The plan was to design and shoot a suite of images that were simultaneously universal and visually appealing. We decided to do a macro photoshoot of a bunch of different textures and surfaces before eventually settling on paper. Using a variety colors gave members the ability to choose an image that best suited their personality or brand.
